Sit back, relax & welcome to the Harrison world

Welcome to the daily happenings of the Harrison Family. It's crazy here, but we have a lot of fun. Mamma is clearly a little out numbered by the male species in the house, but it sure keeps things interesting. In our lives, you'll find lots of bugs, blocks, trucks, loud banging, clanging, running, hurdling off couches and beds, endless amounts of energy, no sleep, laughter from the belly, boo-boos, trips to the dr, walks to the park, did i mention no sleep? We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do.

Fright Night

October 31, 2009, the moon was full (at least to MY eye), the temperature cool and the air filled with a tingling excitement. After a quick bowl of cheerios and milk, the boys donned their costumes and we headed out the door with hopes of filling our buckets with a sick amount of candy. You see, all 4 of us have a strong calling for sugar and Brian and I were just as excited to see each little piece of candy drop daintily into the boys buckets. I'm proud to say our boys love all of the scary creepiness that round out this most fabulous and fun holiday. We spent lots of time in the Halloween Stores punching all the buttons to the menacing characters that move and talk. Our house has been decorated since October 1st, and the boys anticipation has been building ever since. We really enjoyed ourselves and have some great pictures to prove it, enjoy!

The Stars of the Show

Well, after some wild running around the house, Brian and I were able to wrangle these two munchkins to the floor and help them into their awesome dog costumes for the evening. Brady and Breck became like two lunatics when they first caught glimpse of the white shirts and pants they were wearing UNDERNEATH the costume because they knew that even better was yet to come. Their excitement brought smiles to our faces and hearts and reminded us what a joy it is to be blessed with children.

One snazzy lookin' family

So, the hair on Brian and I was sort of last minute... but man I just hate to miss the chance to dress up... especially if I can wear my fabulous clown wig. Brady picked out Dad's hair at the Spirit store, then Brian made the creepy choices to wear his pants rolled up high and the nose and glasses, which quite frankly, I fancy. These pictures just go to show how innocent our two little puppies are... not a hint of embarrassment on their part!

Our walk to Gramma & Grampa's house

The boys chose the wagon for their vehicle of choice for the evening. Actually, they both walked the majority of the time, but the main 'Halloween Street' is long, so we thought we ought to be prepared for tiny, tired paws. The cute little princess is one of our neighbors who stopped us along the way to wish us a happy Halloween and give the boys some yummy candy. Our trip to Mahgie and PaPa's house was delightfully interrupted with many friends and neighbors throughout our trek. It was a good start to an exciting night.

At Gramma & Grampa's House

My two puppies headed up the sidewalk to Gramma & Grampa's house. Along the way, Brady felt the need to stop, drop and look for bugs... but as you can see, they both made it to the door for their treats! This house gave them many many treats!

Trick or Treat

Who knew I would be blessed with the two cutest Dalmations in the entire universe! I think I'll take a second to brag.... My two little guys wore these costumes like proud puppies showing their master a new trick. I do believe just about everyone complimented them on their costumes and yes, some strangers even took pictures. Thank you, thank you, thank you gramma for making these one of a kind, absolutely adorable, heart stopping, jaw dropping, breath taking costumes!

Cousins

All night, Brady was asking about cousins, David and Aaron so I'm really happy they spotted us among all the crazy trick or treaters. I just have to use this moment to mention again how much Brady and Breck adore their big cousins. David and Aaron are just so sweet to them and love playing and teaching them things. How lucky all of these boys are to grow up close to each other. I look forward to the memories they have yet to make!

Charlie Brown Lawn Movie

I do believe that this may have been Brady's favorite spot on the 'Halloween Street'! As you can see, one house had a projector and screen with a Charlie Brown Halloween movie playing. The boys loved it. What a great way to wind down after all of our candy looting!

The Aftermath...

I probably shouldn't have titled these pics 'the aftermath' because the trick or treating was actually a happy exciting event! Anyway... the boys were exhausted by the time we got home. They headed straight for their loot and the couch to catch a couple moments of Ice Age -the movie- and down some delicious sugar. They definitely deserved a treat because they were the best trick or treaters out there! Breck fell asleep after the first book i read and Brady fell asleep in my arms while watching ice age. So sweet and a happy ending to the night... from a child's perspective I can't imagine a better way to end Halloween!
