Sit back, relax & welcome to the Harrison world

Welcome to the daily happenings of the Harrison Family. It's crazy here, but we have a lot of fun. Mamma is clearly a little out numbered by the male species in the house, but it sure keeps things interesting. In our lives, you'll find lots of bugs, blocks, trucks, loud banging, clanging, running, hurdling off couches and beds, endless amounts of energy, no sleep, laughter from the belly, boo-boos, trips to the dr, walks to the park, did i mention no sleep? We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do.

Brooks' Baptism

Today was Brooks' special day. On Aug. 28, 2011 at the 10am mass, Brooks was Baptized and welcomed into the Church. Brooks was a good little guy minus a 3 minute crying outbreak during the middle of the service... nothing a couple of cheerios couldn't help. Dare I say he was the most adorable baby there that day! Somehow we managed having 3 boys in the front row of church, something I was deathly terrified about. Anyway, Hooray for Brooks on his Baptism Day!

Outside St. Pats

Brooks's Godparents are Gramma & Grampa. He wasn't so much a happy camper at the end of his baptism and when Father Joseph decided to pick him up, Brooks spoke his first words and said "ENOUGH ALREADY".
well, maybe he didn't actually verbalize it, but I could see the words within the steam pouring out his ears.
ok, ok, we'll cut the little guy some slack... he IS teething, missed his nap and the million+ degrees outside didn't help the situation.

The families

Ahhhhh, look how much little Brooks is loved!

Happy Birthday Brian

It's kind of a bummer to have to work on your birthday... but yep, those were the cold hard facts for Brian. I did make sure he had a good breakfast before he headed out and while he was away the boys and I decorated the house and made him a fabulous birthday cake.

Water Balloon Fight!

Who doesn't like getting pelted with a water balloon? Seriously.... I would have been part of the action but i had to protect wee little Brooks from the water bombs being launched over head. I WILL add that Gramma got David Elliot pretty good on the back. I think the heat got to her and she just couldn't contain her urge.... totally understand.... just nothing like it. My mom and I couldn't fill the balloons fast enough... seriously could have used an assembly line.

The only way to paint is to become fully immersed in it

The boys paint.. and they paint often. Artists to the core, they believe in getting down and dirty with it.... what's painting without tactile part, right?! Since it's still like an incinerator outside they stayed relatively clean.. but man, once we can get out again... I have a feeling, painting will become body art again.

Fire Station Time

It's august 1st, hot as all get out, but us Texans still gotta live and have fun. I decided a fire station tour was indeed a thing the kids would love to do. Brady, Breck, Brooks and about 7 of their friends trotted on down to our local station to meet the men who keep us safe. We all brought yummy goodies for the firemen and Brady & Breck presented the chief with a nice homemade card & picture capturing the moment when station 57 made a run to our house on 9633 Estate lane. Good stories & laughs were had by all...

friends & community

It was great getting to meet the 'heroes' of our community. The firemen were awesome with the kids and us -big kids- learned some interesting facts! It may have been a sweltering 100+ degrees... but I think we all had ourselves a dandy of a time.

Dreamin' Big

The boys not only saw the inside of the fire station... kitchen, lounge, bedroom, offices, but also got to climb inside of the ambulances & fire engines. Breck told me his favorite part was sitting in the fire engine driver's seat. You can tell he's dreaming big here.... he's always said he wants to be a fireman.

the gear

Love our firemen... standing outside in the heat with their gear on to show our kids all the cool stuff! Brady had to use both hands so his neck didn't flop with that heavy helmet.
